Must be a scuba diver!

Terence

Over the years, I have developed a list of criteria of what I want in a partner and eventually my wife. This list was never written on paper, but stored within. There are times I silently whispered to the Lord about this and have always told Him to bring it to past at the right time. Scanning the list below, only ONE matched the bill, and they are the reasons I treasure her so much.

  1. God fearing. Simple criteria but today is a rarity. I wanted someone not carrying just the name of a Christian, but living that name of a Christian. Deb was exemplary in this in and out season

  2. One that runs along with the ministry God had for me. More often than not, we have Christian couples in ministry, but doing them separately. I wanted someone running parallel, lending her shoulders to mine, and carrying that weight and even greater weight to come. That is when two are better than one.

  3. To finish the race. I never believed in short dates or dating per se, I wanted to start and finish with the same person. And yes, I will be, this coming April!

  4. One that is not materialistic. A high maintenance girl is definitely not one I was looking for. There is real importance when it comes to stewardship.

  5. Communica-table. Besides talking, yakking and chatting through the years, I was looking a person I’d feel comfortable sitting on a swing overlooking a lake, without speaking a word – yet still feels that it was the best conversation we had.

  6. Active, outdoor-ish and always on the extreme. I still have dreams waiting to be come true – paragliding, bungee jumping, sky diving…I can’t have someone who just stays at home baking cookies and pies, though sometimes that may be great!

  7. One who won’t bother too much about my perpetual hairstyle, short pants and corny lame jokes. Self explanatory.

  8. Must be a scuba diver! Although I’m still skeptical about this, well…let me give her the benefit of doubt.
